Online Safety session

As we approach the Christmas period, there will be an increase in the amount of scams that start to circulate.

In order to help people who aren’t computer-savvy, we are organising a session at Todwick Village Hall, on Tuesday 5th December – 6pm-7pm. The session will be led by one of our councillors, Paul O’Sullivan, who has over 25 years of experience helping businesses protect themselves online.

Aimed at anyone who has concerns about using the internet safely, topics covered will include;

  • Good online hygiene
  • Privacy on social media
  • Fake news
  • Passwords
  • Tools to protect you
  • Scams you might encounter
    • ‘Phishing’ Emails and Websites
    • Banking
    • Tech Support
    • Lottery or Prize Draws
    • Romance
    • Family crisis
    • HMRC
    • Online shopping

Rounding off, there will be Q&A session – ask any questions you have about online safety.

If you want to attend and have any specific issues or questions you’d like to see included, drop an email to councillor.osullivan@todwick-pc.gov.uk and we can look to add them.
